When Should You Specify a Digital Print instead of Vinyl?

A digital print has both similarities and differences from a vinyl application. Both are adhesive materials that are placed on the letter or logo box face to alter the appearance of a channel letter set.

However, a digital print has certain capabilities that a vinyl application lacks. First, while vinyl is typically used only for designs of three colors or less, a digital print can include as many colors as are specified by your customer’s channel letter set design.

Use This for Better Reverse Lit Letter Results

Reverse channel letters have a hidden capability that may make your customer’s sign more effective. This post briefly details that capacity – and it can make a difference with your customer’s reverse lit sign.

Single halo color letters are the most common configuration, and typically present an excellent appearance despite the use of just one color. White illumination is frequently specified, as this photo shows:

Channel Letters with Border Configuration

What is a Border Configuration?

A “border” configuration is another method for a vinyl application to change the appearance of a channel letter sign.

The border name comes from the material placement – the vinyl is placed along the border of the letter face only (as opposed to a reveal vinyl configuration, which covers the interior of the letter face.)

What is a Reveal Channel Letter Configuration?

What is a reveal channel letter configuration?

A reveal configuration is a simple method to alter the appearance of a channel letter set.

This configuration can create a memorable appearance when properly placed.

A reveal configuration is simply a vinyl layer placed over part of the face exterior.

This vinyl placement keeps the outside part of the letter acrylic visible but covers the center (see below.)

Increase Your Project Margin

Your client is opening a new business location that will require several types of signage. What is typically the last item to which they pay attention as they approach their grand opening?

You know the answer. Signage. It never seems to be high on their priority list. Even when you’ve mentioned that signage can take time, they want to do everything else first.

As a retailer, what can you do?
